News PH&T Alfuzosin PH&T 10 mg. prolonged release tablets has been registered in Philippines by STADA and will be distributed by Croma Medic under the name Alfustad.

November 2010   PH&T and STADA Asia are proud to announce the successful registration of Alfustad in Philippines.  Alfustad, 10 mg. prolonged released tablets, distributed by Croma Medic, is indicated in the treatment of functional symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy.

A recent article published on BJU International: " An Asian multinational prospective observational registry of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia, with a focus on comorbidities, lower urinary tract symptoms and sexual function" concluded that: "BPH in Asian patients commonly presents with symptoms of LUTS and is associated with other comorbid conditions. Physicians’ choice of treatment is based on the severity of LUTS and the presence and severity of previous AUR. BPH medications, especially α-blockers, are the most commonly used treatment. Patient outcomes are better with BPH medications or surgery than with watchful waiting. Sexual dysfunction is very common in patients with BPH. As Asian men remain sexually active even at advanced ages, sexual function should be assessed and discussed with the patient when contemplating the appropriate management strategy for LUTS associated with BPH."
