News PH&T Epoprostenol PH&T Sterile freeze-dried powder 0,5mg and 1,5mg + solvent, has successfully finalised the European Decentralised Procedure to receive Marketing Authorisation in Netherlands, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom.

March 2011 Epoprostenol PH&T is indicated both for the intravenous treatment of primary pulmonary hypertension and for use in renal dialysis.

Epoprostenol PH&T is indicated for the intravenous treatment of primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH) in New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional Class III and Class IV patients who do not respond adequately to conventional therapy.

Epoprostenol PH&T is also indicated for use in renal dialysis when use of heparin carries a high risk of causing or exacerbating bleeding or when heparin is otherwise contraindicated.

Epoprostenol belongs to a group of agents called prostaglandins. Prostaglandins occur naturally in the body and are involved in many biological functions. Epoprostenol works by relaxing blood vessels and increasing the supply of blood to the lungs, reducing the workload of the heart.
