Latanoprost PH&T is the generic of XALATAN (Pfizer).

Latanoprost is a prostaglandin analogue that works by increasing the outflow of aqueous fluid from the eyes, thus lowering intraocular pressure (IOP) via prostanoid-selective F2-alpha receptor. Latanoprost has consistently shown greater efficacy in lowering IOP compared to timolol + dorzolamide, without the cardiovascular side effects (systemic hypotension, bradycardia, arrhytmias) of timolol.
